Glasgow, Scotland: The REC has once again made its selections concerning the World Heavyweight title for 1803. Two-time champion Ben Bryan will be required give Joe Lashley another crack with Thomas Owen waiting in the wings. Lashley has assembled a fine 15/4/1 mark in and around London while former champ Owen sports a record of 15/5/2. Either man would have to be considered a heavy favorite against Bryan were it not for the prize ring gods that have smiled upon age and wisdom of late.
Newly crowned Middleweight king Bill Richmond has been given a somewhat smoother course with Inniskillin Dragoon and The Chaffcutter on the block. The REC's decision to bypass Jem Belcher in 1803 is curious to say the least unless rumors of his move to the heavyweight division contain more truth than has been thought.
