FORMER CHAMP FALLS

London, England: For the third defense of his REC World Heavyweight title, London's darling Tom Cribb set-to with former champion Joe Lashley. The veteran proved a crafty challenge to young Tom as he kept matters close for four rounds. Lashley kept the champion at bay with his jab whilst being stung only a few times. The fifth frame opened with both men on their toes but a stiff winder from Cribb forced Lashley to a knee at the first minute marker. Lashley rose unsteadily and walked into a firestorm as Cribb took full advantage of his weakened state.

The referee pulled the champion off his victim after more than a minute-long barrage when Lashley could no longer keep his hands about his face. Cribb announced after the match that he would next take on Irish champion Michael Ryan, likely sometime in the fall.

World Middleweight titleholder Bill Richmond had a tough go with Bill Clarke at Islington but managed to put the challenger down in the fourteenth frame. The two-time World Champion now boasts a 17/5/1 record but many fear that father time has come calling for the American.

American racehorses Duroc and Sir Archy have arrived safely on English soil and are presently stabled at the Ascot barns. Both will begin training within the week for the start of the Explorers Cup series in May.
